This week saw the start of a exciting new programme at the Lubavitch Junior IMGP9583.JPGBoys School in Stamford Hill. Pupils from Classes 5 and 6 took part in the SHEL programme which is coordinated by the NHS. SHEL stands for Sport, Health, Education, Life

SHEL is an initiative that encourages children to enjoy fun physical activity and gives them an opportunity to find out about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.IMGP9564.JPG

It is part-funded by NHS City and Hackney Council. It’s all part of delivering positive messages at a key stage of development while having fun.

The course covers issues such as:IMGP9572.JPG

Education - school issues, importance of education

Life - neighbourhood issues, anti-social behaviour and crime

The programme includes follow up sessions once a week for the next 4 weeks. Feedback from the pupils has been very positive and the School looks forward to being able to offer this programme on a more regular basis.IMGP9577.JPG
