At the end of July just under 100 emissaries, educators, community and campus rabbis from all over the UK came together at a venue in Hendon, North London for the Annual Chabad Lubavitch UK Conference.
Spread over two days, the conference provides an opportunity for Chabad's numerous Shluchim from across the UK to meet for discussions and workshops on various aspects related to their work.
The Organising Committee worked tirelessly in the lead up to the conference coordinating the event so as to ensure it would run smoothly. The programme was put together so as to be relevant and appealing to everyone attending.
Sessions included presentations and discussions on recent developments within Chabad Lubavitch UK as well as educational sessions addressing issues relevant to Shluchim's work including professional conduct, setting boundaries, coping in pressured work environments as well as general practical guidance and advice relating to the role of the Shliach. Aside from scheduled sessions the Shluchim also had time to network and get to know each other better informally.
The highlight of the conference was the Farbrengen (Chassidic gathering) which followed the formal proceedings. This was led by Rabbi Shabtai Slavaticki, director of Chabad Lubavitch of Antwerp, an inspirational speaker. The Fabrengen created a vibrant and inspirational atmosphere that saw many Shluchim singing, dancing and talking until the early hours of the morning.
Rabbi Yehuda Pink, reported that feedback from the post conference survey has been extremely positive and Chabad Lubavitch UK look forward to the next Kinus Hashluchim which will take place in Summer 2012.
